FlyCrate

FAQ

Clear answers about how FlyCrate rentals work. Policies marked as pending will be updated when finalized.

How does FlyCrate work?+

Browse available drones, select your rental dates, complete checkout, and we ship the equipment to you. When your rental ends, pack it up and return it using the included return process.

How long can I rent a drone?+

You can rent for common durations such as 1, 3, 5, 7, 14, or 30 days. Longer rentals can be requested through support.

Where does FlyCrate ship?+

FlyCrate is building shipping coverage across the U.S. Availability for your address is confirmed during booking.

How much does shipping cost?+

At checkout we calculate live carrier rates to your address. You choose an outbound delivery speed, and we add the cheapest prepaid return label to that price so round-trip shipping is covered in your rental total.

What is included?+

Each rental includes the drone and the accessories listed on that product’s What’s Included section. Exact kit contents are maintained in inventory and may vary by unit.

What happens if I damage the drone?+

You are responsible for the equipment according to the rental agreement. If you notice an issue, report it through your account as soon as possible.

What happens if the drone is lost?+

Loss is handled according to the rental agreement. Contact FlyCrate support immediately if equipment is lost or stolen.

Can I extend my rental?+

Yes, if the same unit is available after your current dates. Extensions are subject to inventory availability and additional rental charges.

Do I need a drone license?+

Requirements depend on how and where you fly. Recreational and commercial rules differ. You are responsible for confirming FAA and local requirements for your intended use before flying.

Who is responsible for FAA compliance?+

The renter is responsible for complying with FAA regulations, airspace restrictions, Remote ID (where applicable), registration requirements, and safe operation. FlyCrate does not provide legal advice.

Can I take the drone out of the country?+

International travel with rented equipment is not permitted unless FlyCrate explicitly approves it in writing for a specific rental.

How do I return the drone?+

Pack all included equipment in the protective case, attach the return label provided with your rental, and drop the package off with the designated carrier.

When is my security authorization released?+

If an authorization hold is placed, release timing depends on your payment provider and bank. It is not a rental charge unless applied under the rental agreement for damage, missing items, or non-return.
